Sycamore and Crumbcake

Here are a couple samples using Sycamore Street DSP and Crumb Cake cardstock as the neutral base card. I used Tangerine Tango and Island Indigo ink.

Let me know what you think of this color combo--like? dislike? Will you give it a try some time??

Just letting it happen

Two more cards created just for fun. More of the Sycamore Street DSP and one of the
 2011-13 In Colors: Island Indigo.
This color will only be available until this summer.
It's a nice ocean blue--perfect for scrapbooking a trip to the coast.

Summer Starfruit

It has taken me about a year to even contemplate using the 2012-14 In Color shade of Summer Starfruit. When I first saw it all I could think of was "eeeeewwwww, what were they thinking."

And then I kept seeing this wonderful, rich yellow color show up when I was looking for color inspirations. Go figure--SU knew what they were doing!

Here are two samples I just finished:

I accented with Basic Gray--one of my favorite neutrals.

Busy in my craft room today

Can't believe I have another FULL day to be in my craft room--very cool!!  Today I am busy cleaning, sorting, and crafting. I am prepping projects to post to my blog this week using the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper I got for FREE. At first I wasn't a fan of the colors or the patterns, but then I started to see some wonderful projects using this DSP. So I got some with my last order and when I opened it, I fell in love with it all. This happens all the time with SU and their products, even the ones that don't look good to me in the catalog are always much better in person.

Watch for new samples and projects to be posted this week!!

and More Amore is no more

I used up as much as I could on Sunday. The scraps are now in Emily's box to use as she sees fit. This is all I had left after a FULL day of crafting. I enjoyed the color combination, as it was a bit out of my comfort zone. My friend, Christina Thornton, would be upset that I didn't buy a back up since I used the whole package. I am trying to tame my paper hording tendencies :-)

Here are the last of my projects using this festive DSP:

A few more Valentines

I tried to use up all the More Amore DSP on Sunday. Not an easy task with 10 adorable double sided 12x12 sheets and 2 laser cut sheets of lacy hearts. I had ordered some Sweetheart Treat cups on the SU Clearance Rack a week or so ago. I couldn't resist as they were only $0.99.

I had the coordinating heart punch, so I punched a piece out of one of the laser cut hearts. I filled them with valentine m&m's, but thought next time I would try to use cake sprinkles.

I will be delivering these Valentines to random people this week. I had too much fun making them and am looking forward to sharing, even if it is after Valentine's day.

I just love to decorate for Valentine's Day because I get to use a lot of my favorite color--RED!
This pic is of the hutch right inside my front door.

Need a catalog??

I have a bunch and would LOVE to share. No purchase necessary!!!  I set up this display in the entry hall to my stamp room to encourage people to take one when passing by.

I have been rearranging my stamp room once again. I was finally able to give away the piano that took up so much room to my sweet new friend Suzy McNeilly. I am planning to move a white, vintage hutch out of my kitchen and into my room in the next month or so. I am going to hold back on pictures for now as the room is in "limbo" and quite a mess visually.

Caffeinated gift card holders

My sweet friend Diane Fiscus gave me this pattern a few years ago and encouraged me to use it. I hadn't been inspired until I finally got some of the Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper. Love the red/white combo!!  You only get two sheets of each color combination, so I am sad to say I am already out of the red :-(

I used the slit punch (sadly retired) but there are many fun ways to hold a gift card. The lid fits into the "cup" which is a pocket. I would happily share this pattern, just contact me.

Belated Valentine Wishes, are they ok??

It is okay to send belated birthday cards. I read a lot of posts to Facebook recently about sending late Christmas and New Years wishes. I've been feeling guilty about not getting any Valentines done by February 14th. I decided to celebrate all of February and give out Valentine wishes late this month.

Here is one of the projects my Stamp Club was going to do this month. It was a busy month and so we didn't meet in time. I made them all up on Sunday and plan to get them out to my club girls this week.

I loved the Designer Series Paper from the current mini catalog. It is called More Amore and includes two laser cut sheets of hearts, one in Real Red and one in Primrose Petals.

I started making these "sour cream containers" by rolling a 4x6" piece of dsp into a tube and gluing the seam.  Then I pinched one end together, applied glue to the edge and held it closed while the glue dried with a large clamp. I filled each one with a few treats, then closed the other end.

I made a smaller punched image using the Decorative Label punch
.All you need to do is punch one piece out, then insert it in the side of the punch until it lines up with the edges and punch again.
