SU Regional Training in Tacoma today

Here are the 28 swaps I got done literally right before I left the house. Nothing like waiting until the last minute to get inspired. I haven't been to a SU event in years and I am very excited to see some stamping friends. Patty Snyder. Christina Thornton and I have to be at the Convention Center by 7:30 am. Hoping there is a Starbucks somewhere along the way!!!

thanks ladies

I had two of the nicest participants in my lunch notes class tonight. I made them a special treat: a candied apple cocktail. It was perfect for a warm autumn evening. I think they appreciated it. Sue said it was the reason she came--thought it would help her cold. Marie brought me tomatoes from the farmers market so I can make my family some more salsa soon. I so needed a nice night wtih some nice people after a frantic Wednesday. Thanks ladies!!

Watch for another of these classes--I promise to be a bit more organized. They finished all 20 notes in about an hour. I think their grandkids are really going to be impressed.

Yet another collage . . .

I am contemplating doing a collage class. Who is interested? What would you be willing to pay for such a class? How much time would you be willing to allow?? Please respond via FB, email or blog comment. It would be need to be a predetermined style for the sake of time, but would include all materials.

Another collage

Here is a collage I made a couple months ago. It is not as dramatic as the halloween one I posted a few days ago, but I like parts of it.
I used a bunch of scraps I had of some paper from Emily's stash. She prefers the glittery, bright and funky stuff.  I cut the cup out by hand and then used punches for the other images like the bird and flower and trim for the top of the cup.

Ping Pong donations

We will be visiting with my mom over in Everett this weekend for her birthday, so we will be missing the fesivities of Palouse Days this year. I am donating some stamped items for the Ping Pong ball drop on Main Street. Here is a pic of what I have pulled together so far . . .

These are the cards I made just last week.

These are some 3x3 gift cards I've had for a while.

UPS delivered a box . . .

. .  . yesterday and I didn't get a chance to open it until this morning. Oh there ar not many things better than the man in brown delivering a box with the Stampin Up! logo on it. Can't wait to dig into it tonight when I get home from work.

I got a few new stamp sets, some Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper, and a couple of the Framelets to try out on my Big Shot.

Halloween Collage Project

Layered the patterned paper and modpodged it all onto a skinny little canvas.

Inked edges, added details and generally made it all grungy looking.

Here is the final product.

I am definitely going to need some more of this Howlstooth and Scaring Bone Halloween Designer Series paper from SU. It is stinking cute!! I also used the stamp sets Wicked Cool and Toxic Treats. You can get these on my website any time and have them shipped directly to your house. Just click on the "shop with me" button.

Collaging with my girlies

A few of my crafty friends had done some collaging up at the Palouse Divide Lodge earlier this year and had sworn to try to get together to do some again. This was our second time in four months--alas not as often as we'd wanted. We started at 9am and went until 9pm, breaking only for food :-)

It is a very long process and takes a lot of room--this is when I realized my stamp room just isn't big enough.  After looking at our calendars/planners we all realized that the next time we can get together is when we are once again together at the PDL in November.

Tonya was quilling some of her own embellishments.

Kristi was searching for some inspiration.

Julie made this amazing carmel popcorn made with butter, brown sugar and marshmallows.

.

This was the first collage I finished. I started with scraps leftover from stamping the night before. It is a very messy process. I did a halloween one that I will be posting later this week. I also started a new one to finish next time, but didn't get much past setting up the background. I used a lot of SU stuff, but some basic art supplies too.

I love Fridays!

It has always been my goal to have Fridays off and to myself to do creative things. It works out about half the time, but that is pretty good for me. Yesterday was one of those days. Woot!

I designed these cards for the two upcoming card classes I have this month.

using what I have . . .

left over from another project. I always seem to have little bits of patterned paper left over that I can't toss, but yet I don't ever use again. Tonight I tried to use these little bits to make a few cards:

Supplies used:
Certainly Celery/Riding Hood Red cs, Twitterpated DSP, silver/black metallic brads
Decorative Label punch

(If anyone has any tips on photographing for better images, I would love to hear them. Not sure why I am getting the blurry spots. I even use a tripod, grrr!)

creative chaos

Today I am working on the projects for our "No Tricks, Just Treats" Halloween Stamp Camp. I am only one of the 5 Stampin Up demonstrators designing projects. It sounds like everyone is making 3-5 projects each. We rented the wonderful new space in the Palouse Community Center on Main Street on Saturday morning October 6th. I will be posting my projects as soon as I find just the right treat to go with the packaging. Here is a look at the way I work:

It all gets put away pretty quick when I am finished, but as I work nothing gets put away. It just gets pushed aside--squeegie style with my arm or hand or finger depending on how much space I have. My work area gets smaller and smaller and smaller . . .

If you are interested in attending our wonderful event--contact me before 9/30/2012.

a bit of Fall in the air . . .

We dug up almost all of our sunflowers yesterday. Between the birds and the squirrels, they start getting pretty messy about this time of year.

Our pumpkin patch, aka our front yard, is going to produce the biggest crop yet. I had to clean out some of the vines early so as to save the onions they had grown over.
