Open House--RESCHEDULED

As some of you know, Mike's grandma passed away last night. She was an amazing woman and we were blessed to have had her in our lives. She was creative and adventurous. I have always vowed to be like her as I get older. She was such an inspiration.

Her memorial service has been set for next Tuesday, which was the date of my annual Customer Appreciation Open House. I have just now changed it to be:

Friday, June 7th from 5:30 to 8pm

Come celebrate the new catalog year with me!
FREE 2013-14 Stampin' Up! Catalog (while supplies last),
Champagne!!!!
FREE stamping project,
plus a sale on all my retired merchandise.
Ordering specials for that night only, too

Stamp Club

Stamp Club was at my house last night--very well attended, which was super fun! These are the projects we made:

I used the DSP from the This & That product line introduced in the current mini catalog. It is in the new, yearly catalog as well. Love the color combos! Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Gumball Green, and Calypso Coral. Yummy!

Thanks so much to Becky Roberts for introducing me to "pretzel bags" (found in cake supply type stores). They are the perfect size to pretty up little candy bars

Loving the chevron embossing folder (see above)

The above two designs were inspired by a sheet of hexigon patterned dsp from the This & That collection. I cut it to size then "fussy cut" the design in half and applied each element to a card with washi tape.

This particular stamp club meets every other month--this year we are skipping summer months--and is required to purchase $25 each time before s/h & tax. The hostess benefits rotate to each member once per club year and there are seven members in this time.

If you are interested in starting a club with your own friends, let me know.
I am very flexible in how to work things.

Cards for Meet Shop, Too

I finally had a few hours to make some cards for selling at Windy Tevlin's coffee shop in Garfield. I've been meaning to do this for a couple weeks now and promising myself to take advantage of all this rainy weather and make even more tomorrow.

Garfield-Palouse graduation is coming up, so I thought I'd use the black and red combo, with touches of silver and white. I had some retired SU dsp (designer series paper) and just started cutting.

Using retired stuff makes me feel so smart and frugal. I usually just give all my retired stuff, that has been open and used a bit, to the school for the teachers. They seem to appreciate the extras. Kids love to cut and paste and be creative--they don't know or even care that it's retired :-)

selling cards means that I have to make sure that me and SU are protected--it's as easy as putting this image on the backs of the cards. This one is quite old, but I like it. There are new copywrite stamps available in the SU catalog, if you are interested in selling your hand made items.

Packaged up and ready to go--gotta love our clear envelopes! It keeps grubby little fingers off the white cardstock. Yeah!!

Come check out Meet Shop Too in Garfield and ask her about my cards for sale. She has great coffee and other vintage items for sale. You can find more about her shop on Facebook:

Date Change!!

Just realized today that I scheduled my customer appreciation night the same night as Emily's last school dance. I need to be available for hair, make up and a mani/pedi and of course all the pictures!!

I have just rescheduled the Annual Customer Appreciation for the night before--Tuesday, June 4th from 6-8pm.

There will be FREE make and take projects, retired merchandise for sale, champagne and of course your FREE copy of the new catalog.

Can't wait to show everyone what is in all these bags---especially the dress we bought for the dance!!

This and That

I love the colors and design of the new scrapbooking journal "This and That" which SU came up with to inspire the new type of quick scrapbooking trend I have noticed lately.

I of course ordered one right away and then totally forgot I had it (got sick, went fishing, then Emily got her tonsils out). Well I remembered I had it last weekend and got it all out to look at it . . . .

and designed the cover for my own use:

I also drug out an old SU bag that had a display pocket on it. I have put all my supplies and the journal in the bag to take with me this summer. My goal is to use it from June 1 to August 31st. It has preprinted pages, some with pockets, coordinating dsp and stickers, washi tape and a date stamp.

Then I just found these samples on the SU blog for ideas on using the extra supplies--how cool is that!?!

gotta get a t-shirt

OK so after my friend, Debbie Hoadley, introduced me to the website Two Chicks Designs I have been trying to commit to my first purchase. I even suggested a few to my family for gift ideas. I finally ordered this one the other day:

I am very excited to try it out at my next PDL scrapbooking weekend.

Yesterday I opened my email and they sent me a coupon to share with my paper crafting friends. Click the link below to get 15% off your own tshirt order:

I might have to get this one next:

(it says: "it's not a mistake it's an opportunity to embellish")

wow it's been a whole month...

...since I made a blog post! How embarrassing !!  Well I got sick for a week, then we went fishing in Concunully, and we are almost recovered from having Emily's tonsil's taken out. Then we realized we were about a month behind on our yard work and had to deal it before it really got out of hand.

So I guess life got in the way of blogging, so sad, but it happens.

I can't believe it's time for the new catalog to come out--whoosh, talk about a fast year. I am always full of mixed emotions when I get the  new copy of the Stampin Up catalog. I am sad to see some things retire, but so excited to see new stuff too. It happens every year and after 13 years I truly should be used to it by now.  I have been busy this morning cleaning out my shelves of retired merchandise: cardstock, ink, punches, stamps. I still need to go through my ribbon (oy what a mess that drawer has become!!). I have also gone through my embellishments. They are cute, but my pet peeve is grabbing something to do a class and realizing it's not available anymore. It is just easier to sell it and use the $$ to buy new, updated bling.

Here is a look at where I started today:
It is so easy to let things pile up, but my new room set up makes for a pretty quick clean up.

And then I took all morning sorting and when I got done I really have some empty spaces to fill:

I am excited for the new refreshed colors.

Watch for more updates later this week.....I promise!!!
